Instructions For Chord Transposition
The easiest way to learn to use the chart is by an example.
I am going to transpose from the key of (G) to the key of (C)
The chords we will be transposing from in the key of G will be G Em C D
The chord we transpose from will always be in column 1 (highlighted in yellow}
Find the G at the bottom of column 1
Now, follow the same row straight to the right until you find the C . Notice the C is in column 6.
((All of the chords you are transposing too will be found in column 6)
Now find the E (Em) in column 1 and follow it to the right to column 6, which is A (Am)
Now find C in column 1 and follow that row to the right to column 6 which is F
Now find D in column 1 and follow that row to the right to row 6 which is G.
G Em C D becomes C Am F G
G=C
Em=Am
C=F
D=G
